About (Biography)

Born 1948 to Artem Fedorovich Sergeev-Artem (son of Comrade Artem; Adoptive son of Stalin) and Nina Mitrophanovna Sakharova (linguist/teacher of English at the Kremlin).

Education: Specialized high school (all AP subjects, with emphasis on mathematics, Gold Medal, First of class, 1963-1966); Moscow University (mathematics, linguistics, humanities) (1966-1972); and Soviet Academy of Sciences (political science, history, international relations). (1972-1975).

Occupation: Fellow, Institute of USA and Canada Studies (Soviet Academy of Sciences and Soviet Government) (1972-1981).

International Civil Servant/United Nations Secretariat. (1980-1981).

Other major activities:

Chairman, Moscow University, Student Scientific Society/Linguistic Section. (1967-1972)

Member, Joint American-Soviet Work Group On Scientific Policy. (1973-1975)

Member, Soviet Contingent, International Council Of Scientific Unions (ICSU). (1977-1980).

5. MERITS/AWARDS/RECOGNITION.

1975.

Special Award of Soviet Academy of Sciences for “developing a new concept for information processing and retrieval.” Essentially- an early version of "Google".

 
6. Currently:

Living a private quiet life in Los Angeles focusing on a large body of work that will sum up the totality of his life experience and constitute his literary legacy.

Sakharov lives with his wife with his two adult daughters nearby.
